Covid-19 hit everyone! We were all sent home wherever we worked or studied, unless you were an amazing provider of essential and needed services, many had to stay at home 24/7. It was a tough time to be finishing up a three year degree but I did feel luckier than most, as having found my second year so stressful and hard-going, I decided to hit -he-ground-running when I began my third year. So when March closures were announced, it just meant I was to sit day upon day in my home office and write, write, write! I was truly blessed to have conducted all of my interviews early on, to have transcribed all of my data – which took 10-days solid – to then begin to write it all up and re-write, and re-write numerous sections, to then finally be happy to submit it on 6th May 2020. But that wasn’t the end unfortunately for my brain! I then had three other assignments to construct and submit also. My poor brain was wincing at the thought let alone at the actual having to focus and make sense of everything I then had to start to read through, all over again!
But I made it and on the 27th June, I submitted my final piece to the University of Northampton, and I cannot say how relieving that feeling was and how I amazed I was that I actually really did make it to the end – when at least 5-times I had decided I just did not have it in me!! But my yoga had helped me immensely, delivering to others, knowing I was guiding individuals through their practice, allowing them to create space, time and providing others with techniques through breathe focus and relaxation with which they could implement into their daily, currently surreal, lives. I once again felt truly blessed, even though I was snowed under with work..haha!!
