On the 1st of June, I introduced more classes, I know, as if I didn’t have enough to be going on with, and I hasten to add, I decided I needed to undertake two additional online training courses during the month of May also!! I must have been bonkers which was clearly the case! RelaxYoga was born along with ChairYoga. The feedback from RelaxYoga was incredible and gave me an even amazing hairs-on-end type of feeling when I would read how people totally loved the relaxation and yoga Nidra meditation deliveries. It was definitely the icing on the cake! ChairYoga too allowed those individuals with restricted mobility to enrich, enliven and enhance their mind and body with modified poses suited especially for them.
My University decided to run a piece on their website celebrating and highlighting the volunteering many students and staff had decided to embark upon during lock-down. My endeavors had been duly noted after I approached one of my tutors to inform the staff and students about the opportunity to obtain free yoga classes back in April. Then the Northampton Chronicle and Echo newspaper picked up on it too and by the Wednesday, having posted the article on the Monday, the local BBC Radio Northampton had called me up for an interview. I quaked in my flip-flops at the thought but no way would I allow myself to refuse due to nerves. I thrust myself forward and agreed. the radio interviewer was great and I made it through to my amazement! It was a great boost and once again, I just felt pleased that more people would be able to join me, having heard all about it on the radio.
On 15th June, Boris Johnson decided to lower the lock-down to allow some businesses to open and, as I had always quoted, my yoga will be FREE until lock-down ends, I decided to implement prices and begin to charge for my yoga delivery from that day also. I had kept my initial word and delivered yoga to all for free for two and a half months, and although it did feel strange asking people to pay from that date, it was really what I needed to do to move forward. My customers who had been attending, many already donating right from the beginning, were amazing, so encouraging and supportive of my decision. So, with my new website being built in the background (by my brother, whom I had no idea had such a company and had been looking for a test site!) after I had quickly thrown an off the shelf site together in the early days for people to head to for information, I am approaching the end of my third month of delivering seedsofsamyoga online! Told me I would be doing this 6-months back and I would have looked at you like you were crazy!
Then on 23rd June, I had the opportunity to stream live yoga from a lake in Northamptonshire. The weather was incredible and just perfect. The sailors were out in force drifting effortlessly along, with SUPpers paddling by serenely whilst I had the absolute pleasure of delivering yoga from a pontoon situated next to a nesting pair of swans. Hundreds of mayflies fluttering around me and the evening sun drenching and bathing me in its glorious glow, I was in heaven surely! Once again, I felt truly blessed and so grateful to have this fabulous experience. Definitely something I would love others to experience and hopefully, when Covid restrictions become even less limiting, that may even happen in the future. Yoga on the banks, SUPping on the lake and then relaxation/meditation gently drifting whilst laying peacefully on a paddle-board within the exquisite surroundings of this natural haven. Fingers crossed hey!
